Podcasts- 3 ways to absorb all the knowledge.
Do you ever listen to the same podcast episode and think, ‘Wait, why don’t I remember half the things I listened to?’ You are probably not alone.
Mornings+ Podcasts:
My mornings always begin with a cup of warm lemon water and a podcast episode. Listening to podcasts somehow always makes me feel like I am off to a constructive start.
The 3 ways:
#1. Selecting
- I am sure you have your preference so make sure you understand why you are choosing what you are choosing. (genre)
- Download Notion- This app is my go-to for almost everything.
- Or, keep a notebook.
#2. Writing or Typing
You obviously cannot and do not have to write down the entire podcast script. But look for these: RILQNT👇
- R- Resonate: Write down the stories or lessons which resonate.
- I- Ideas: Any podcast you pick is bound to give you an idea or two.
- L- Lesson: 95% of the time I learn a thing or two about myself — it is vital you note that.
- Q- Quotes: Every podcaster mentions some quote that changed their life- note that down, it could potentially help change yours someday.
- N- New perspectives- It’s always fun to learn new ways to approach a situation or a person.
- T- Tasks: Say the podcaster challenges you to do something, For example: Take cold showers 3 days once for 3 months. You could challenge yourself to this every now and then.
The above method, I personally use for podcasts and for annotating books.
#3. Assimilate
It doesn't make much sense if you don’t reflect on what you have listened to. Even when it comes to reading books, you have to make sure you take a step back to recollect and implement at least 5%.
How to do this?
Note down the things you find yourself performing in the same manner, try to switch it up with something you just learned. For example: Instead of walking with headphones on, look at your steps and try to focus on just your steps (it is a form of meditation- bringing all your focus to one action)
These 3 things have helped me remember key points from every podcast I have ever listened to, believe me- so many things are repeated over and over again, yet we don’t implement it.
